I suppose the fog wouldn’t be quite as beautiful if I were the captain — or the pilot — but the Italian sail training ship Amerigo Vespucci can never look anything but splendid.

I once got to tour this ship when it was part of a “tall ships” flotilla that visited Philadelphia. It is a total WOW. Somewhere I may even still have a wall poster of it I bought.
I agree completely. As it happened, we know the man who was the commandant that year, so he gave us his own tour. Beyond glam. The ship has its own china pattern (among other things).
It is just magic, and in the fog, even more so. How lucky (both of you), to go on board. The cadets who train on it probably have to work and study very hard!
