If we can examine some of this without any emotion at all, one can dimly see that the rules (as they were) mostly had some rational basis according to the ideas the company had at the time of what doing the job entailed. Over time, those ideas were altered. Did the work itself change in some way? Or was it just demonstrated that some of the rules didn't accomplish any useful purpose? (I can see lots of advantages for short people in all kinds of jobs.) But what I hate is the contrails of disappointment in your wake. I think you'd have made a phenomenal FBI stewardess. Why didn't somebody think of that???? Boxes! Categories! Feh!!

I understand about glasses keeping you from your goals. I wanted to be an airline stewardess but not only did I wear glasses I was too short. Not much I could do about that. Then I wanted to be an FBI agent. I was too short, a female and I wore glasses. Not much to be done there either. Now I could be an FBI agent if I had the appropriate academic degree (which I could get). But I am too old. Not much I can do about that either. Oh, and I don't think I'll make it to the moon either - except if I want to spend the money, some of my ashes could get into space. So one keeps navigating between reality and dreams. Be creative where you are and keep an eye out for opportunities.
