A view of the docks at Tronchetto. As you see, seven assorted ships can fit in here at any one time, though these is space for smaller ones (yes, there are smaller ones) at the Zona Marittima nearby. Discussion is underway to expand the dock area.

The view of the Giudecca Canal as seen by the passengers on a departing ship.  I'm on a Minoan Lines ferry to Greece.  You can see that it's not exactly a two-way street, so the notion of making a one-way circuit for the cruise ships seems a little beside the point.
